Rather change TV's color settings. Not perfect but Better than sdr in my opinion. No problem. Also set your console's HDR/hgig settings black levels to 0. You can check HDTVs video on setting your hgig correctly if you need help on that. Best check it out for yourself, it just requires turning a setting on and off.
Strange, when I set RGB to "Limited" on my PS5, picture looks really washed out. When I change RGB to "Full" the picture looks better for me, more vivid colors, betters blacks. So I use below settings: PS5: RGB = Full. LG Nanocell Black levels = Low. Special-Caregiver288.

I can only really answer this, but this means that if you are using the first version and have a HDR compatible TV, the console simply won't let you enable HDR because the first version of VR doesn't have required hardware to pass HDR information to the TV (as it would look completely foreign and weird to the device). Bought God of War on PC today and been playing it, and wow! I have a question though, it said HDR could not be detected, even though I do indeed have HDR. So i cannot adjust or enable becasue it thinks I do not have it. My son has the exact same computer and monitor I have, exact everything and he has this setting and the game did detect it.
